MEDIUM Devs Speak about XBOX Series X

What is going on here, guys? Dealer back again with yet another video. Thanks for joining me, guys. Today we’re talking about X box series X console exclusive. The medium. Yes. According to the developer, this game promises to deliver only consoles true capability. In fact, according to them, it’s not possible on last generation consoles.

Now, if you’re confused and wondering why this isn’t scaling from platform to platform, maybe you haven’t watched some of my videos. Well, stay tuned. I will explain exactly what is holding this back from running on your X box one and why. It is proof in itself. The games are not being held back by older platforms. Remember visuals pixels.

They largely scale over x 86 architecture from different types of graphics cards, consoles and more. But when it comes down to gameplay design, that would be the reason this is not available on previous generation systems. There has to be something to do with the way the gameplay is, the way the game plays. The seamless and instantaneous transformation between worlds in this title that perhaps needs the speed of that SSD.

There has to be some reason this is not able to run on older systems. Just want to make that clear. That’s why we had always talked about gameplay design, and that’s actually the reason we knew that older systems wouldn’t really hold back. Newer systems, because of a game, could not run on something like an X box one s then they simply would not make it run on an X box one X.

That’s why I’ve said over and over only Microsoft said their games would support older systems like the original Xbox One for a year. Maybe two third party developers can support whatever they want. They don’t have to support the older systems. And the medium developer has chosen to make this a next generation exclusive. So remember, that doesn’t mean that the graphics are necessarily too demanding to run on older systems. There’s something about the way this game plays out.

Some kind of gameplay design aspect that demands dramatically more horsepower. And this is what the developer has officially said. A fan on Twitter asks if the game will actually utilize smart delivery, meaning, hey, it’s available for older consoles, but you can get a free upgrade. The game developer replies, no, it is an X box. Thirty six console exclusive.

The gameplay mechanics we are creating for the medium can be fully realized only on next generation hardware. The game simply could not work on the current generation platforms. Now, again, it’s very important the people pay attention to what the developer said here. Gameplay mechanics that we are creating for the medium can only be realized or next generation hardware. They did not say graphics, they did not say frame rate. They do not say rate tracing.

They do not say particles. They did not say anything about visuals than talking about mechanics, a.k.a. gameplay design. The things in the game that you do as the player are simply not possible on older, slower CPUSA and hard drives. My personal theory is that instantaneous transition between these two types of game world are enabled by X box series X is the SSD and of course its architecture.

And it’s a very important part of why and how the game plays out. C.P.U Hard drive bottlenecks prevent that from being possible on older systems like pIace for x box one asks, etc.. So if you want a real idea of how gameplay design is going to take a leap, the medium, at least in some small way, we’ll show you new things that are possible, things you’ve technically never seen before on console. Now, again, I must stress that this is kind of interesting because they are saying it’s not possible on older consoles.

Now, there is a lot to talk about in this particular scenario because there are a few caveats here. And really, it depends on what the lowest common denominator is for the hardware involved on ABC. Yes, the game is coming to B.C. And if the game is running on anything other than a core 16 thread, the power of a twenty, eighty or twenty eighty super, almost six hundred gigabytes per second memory bandwidth and an SSD, then it really isn’t leveraging the system to its fullest.

My question to you is what kind of minimum spec do you think they allow for this game on P.c? Will the game need a very fast, hard drive? What kind of C.P.U performance will the game need? Because again, visual scale, you can largely produce those four different types of graphics cards etc. Gameplay design is the thing that you can’t scale once you decide that you want to do X, Y or Z.

And you just need a certain benchmark of hardware for that. Those that do not meet the requirements will not be able to run the game. This is what’s happening with the medium, the medium demand, something these older consoles do not have. Probably hard drive bandwidth, probably CPO limitations. Let me know what you think. Down below. Personally, I don’t think the game looks bad. I think it looks pretty good. But of course, it all depends on what frame rate this will be available at on the actual series X.

There is no excuse not to have these games available at 60 F. Yes, across the board. We will talk more about Assassin’s Creed, Valhalla going into the future. There are things unfolding. I’ve talked to a few X box executives about this. I am reaching out to more. Let me know your thoughts. Down below.

Thanks for joining me. I figured I would fill you guys in on what this game is doing. I think it may leverage these Series X hardware. It is also a perfect example of a game not being held back by older consoles because, hey, they didn’t compromise on their gameplay design. They said, look, we’re gonna go ahead and take the leap and show people at least something new. And I do respect that. But not every game has these kinds of demands for whatever kind of gameplay design.

So you see a ton of gorgeous cross generation software. They’ve been making P.C. ports of games forever. Everything for the first time ever is X eighty six to X eighty six. There is no need for developers to learn new crazy architectures that are highly custom when it comes to their machine language like they’ve traditionally had to do. Therefore, you should just see the adoption of PCI features, etc. brought down to the console level, which happens to be better than most species this time around.
