Guide to PvP in New World: factions, operation and rewards

New World promises to give MMO lovers a really fresh experience, thanks in part to its fantastic PvP system. Amazon Games has found one of the most entertaining formulas in memory to encourage players to face each other.

New World Basic Guide: tips to start off on the right foot
The system has a total of 3 factions well separated from each other, several events to be able to face other players and a reward system that will force players to fight to get bonuses and improvements in the different territories that make up the game.

PvP in New World: factions, rewards, operation and more
With the latest New World beta, PvP has not become mandatory for players. If you are only interested in PvE content, you can avoid any kind of conflict throughout your adventure, so don’t worry in that regard.

Basically, to activate PvP you are going to have to go to your settlement or home and activate it. As soon as you leave the safe zone, you will be able to engage in combat with other players who also have it activated (those who haven’t will not be able to be targeted).

What really interests you is that, if you decide to take the risk of activating it, you will get 10% more experience. It will be up to you to decide whether it is worth it or not, although if you encounter too insistent opponents they can leave your equipment in phosphate and force you to spend money to repair it.

Factions
There are a total of 3 factions in the game:

Marauders
Syndicate
Pact
New World 2 Factions
Representatives of the 3 factions
Although each one has its own particular background, what really interests you (being unromantic) is the equipment they offer. You can accept missions from the leaders of each faction to increase the influence of your faction in the mission area.

The simplest approach of this whole system is for your faction to control as much land as possible. And the main incentive for you to be interested in this is that in the territories controlled by your faction you will have a good handful of bonuses and improvements, from more resources when collecting to higher quality equipment when creating it.

How the faction system works
Now that you know the basics of the Factions system, it’s time to dive into how it works. One of the most important points when taking a territory is that it is vulnerable. To make it vulnerable, it is necessary to fulfill missions of our faction to weaken the influence of the faction that controls it. Once this influence has been sufficiently reduced, our faction can declare war on the faction that controls it.

If, on the other hand, it is your faction that controls the territory, you will be mainly interested in fulfilling missions for your faction in that territory, thus reinforcing your influence. When a war breaks out, the companies of each warring faction can join that war, creating a sort of divisions within each faction for that particular war.

Here you can see the influence of each faction in a particular territory.
It may also be the case that a company of your faction is controlling a territory in a less than optimal way and you are not interested. Well, the best thing to do is not to support them in the war and let them wipe it out. Your faction will have more chances to take over that territory in the future.

Types of PvP in the game
Finally, it is time to explain what each type of PvP that we can find in the game consists of:

PvP in the world: very simple to understand. Basically, after marking yourself as a PvP player in a settlement or in your home, you will be able to go out into the world and fight with players from other factions.

50vs50 wars: one of the most fun events in player vs. player mode. Takeover of points, violence everywhere, cannons…
Remote Post Assault: these are 20 vs 20 battles in which the objective is to score a total of 1000 points. It has several phases, such as collecting materials, offensive structures and in general it is an easy to understand experience.

Remote Post Assault During the assaults, there will be events, such as bosses that will appear and that we can defeat to get advantages.
Forts: on the map there are a number of forts with different points capturable by factions. Controlling these forts will give 5% experience to the members of the faction and 20% more influence points for our faction when completing missions. In addition, each fort will have a powerful buff for our faction, such as reducing taxes or reducing the cost of fast travel.
At the moment, these are the types of PvP content available in the game, but new modes could arrive as patches are released.
